On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of Yolo Family Service Agency, we would like to thank the sponsors, donors and attendees of our Dinner Theatre and Silent Auction on April 4 for a successful annual fundraiser. We especially appreciate the cooperation of Howard Hupe of the Winters Community Theatre and director Trent Beeby in their delightful production of Mary Chase’s classic comedy, Harvey.
Our financial success was due to the generosity of our event sponsors: Directors Hilliard State Farm Insurance and Yolo Federal Credit Union, Lead Actors Attorney Roger Gambetese and King Properties, and Understudies County Assessor Joel Butler, Wraith, Scarlett & Randolph, State Senator Lois Wolk, County Supervisors Helen Thomson and Jim Provenza, Carbahal & Company. Luhdorff & Scalmanini Engineers and First Northern Bank, Woodland. All Star Rents provided significant support by donating all the table settings.
Our Silent Auction success was due to the contributions from many businesses and individuals. We especially thank Ken’s Bike & Ski, Three Palms Nursery, The Naturalist, Massage and Spa Therapy, Yolo Federal Credit Union, Woodland Veterinary Hospital, Silvina’s Basket Restaurant, The Palms, Sacramento River Cats, DeLuna Jewelers, the Avid Reader, Willkinsons International, Sundance Car & Express Lube, Maria Rojas State Farm, K & M Florist, Woodland Healthcare, Smooth as Silk Spa, Wilson Vineyards and Ono Teriyaki. We thank members of the Davis Sunrise Rotary Club for bartending. Members of the UCD Rotoract Club were a tireless kitchen and serving crew.
The outstanding meal was a showcase of Yolo County’s bounty. Heading up a generous array of local grocers, growers and vintners is Nugget Market with their donation of all the marinated tri-tip, barbequed perfectly on Home Depot charcoal. The evening began with wonderful wines from R.H. Phillips, Rominger West, Berryessa Gap and Bogle Wineries and beer from V. Santoni & Co. The scrumptious vegetables from Full Belly and Terra Firma Farms and Durst Organic Growers were sautéed with Hillstone Olive Oil, adding to The Buckhorn’s delicious roasted potatoes and salad from the Davis Food Coop. Village Bakery again provided all the fresh bread for our patrons, buttered with a kind donation from Cracchiolo’s Market. Dinner was topped off by extraordinary chocolate desserts from Ciocolat and Putah Creek Cafe, carrot cake from Lester Farm’s Bakery and Starbuck’s Coffee. Preparations would not have been so easy without the gifts of Raley’s and Safeway Supermarkets.
YFSA’s board and staff enjoyed hosting our community supporters to raise important funds for children and parents without insurance who turn to YFSA to support children, help individuals and strengthen families through affordable sliding-fee scale counseling, support groups and educational programs.
